As other reviewers have noted,there is nothing salvaged,reclaimed,or forged about these brackets.They are simply hot rolled steel bar stock,as it comes from the mill,bent into a sturdy L shaped bracket.I’ve made similar brackets using a hacksaw,vice,propane torch and a big hammer.I freely admit it is difficult to not get some twist in the bends with this method.The purchased brackets have very uniform bends.For my purposes,I cut the lip off,rounded the sharp corners and painted them flat black.I am happy with the result.I saved significant time over starting from scratch and also achieved a better result.If I need more brackets,of this type,I wouldn’t hesitate to reorder.If you are looking for a simple,sturdy L bracket,these will do the job. If you are looking for a hand forged bracket,like a blacksmith would make,you need to look elsewhere.
