M2 ATSC 3.0 OTA Single Tuner DVR Gateway with 4K, HDR, and Channel Guide

The ZapperBox is an absolutely fantastic Nextgen TV tuner!Most TVs, new or old, don’t have tuners that support the new Nextgen TV broadcast standard. The ZapperBox is a perfect addon solution for picking up the new Nextgen TV broadcasts. We wanted to get a Nextgen tuner because one of our local stations only broadcasts a very weak VHF channel and a Nextgen UHF channel. So Nextgen was our only option for picking up an NBC broadcast. ZapperBox picks up this channel with no issues at all, even with it having DRM. The picture quality on all channels is great, and on the Nextgen channel it’s fantastic.The box was very easy to set up. It’s just a power cable, the antenna input, and an HDMI output. The remote also has a few programmable buttons. They were very easy to configure to control input selection and power for our Samsung TV. The box is very small and easily fits on top of our other input sources. Channel switching is very quick. I love the TV guide. It gives you a few days worth of broadcasts for the next couple of days.A really, really nice feature of the ZapperBox is the built-in DVR. You can just pop in a MicroSD card and have easy and cost effective storage for 128 GB of recordings. When you schedule recordings it automatically adds an extra minute before and after the scheduled time to make sure you don’t miss anything at the beginning or end. Playback for the recordings is excellent quality.Probably the best feature of all is that ZapperBox has outstanding support. I haven’t had any issues with it so far, but in the month or so that I’ve had it I’ve already gotten a few emails telling me that my ZapperBox is getting feature updates. They give a short, bulleted list of the major features/improvements, but they’re also constantly doing maintenance and bugfixes (even though I think I’ve only once noticed the smallest of bugs).I’ve been incredibly happy with my ZapperBox so far. It seemed kind of pricey for something that you would normally expect to be built-in to your TV, but I’ve found the ZapperBox to be so much better than even the old-school digital tuner built-in to my Samsung. Now I have a DVR for all the channels I was already used to getting. If you have Nextgen broadcasts available in your area and you’re on the fence, you’ll be really pleased with what the ZapperBox can do!
